What Is Considered to Be Emergency Dental Care?

Emergency dental services are required when there is any incident involving your mouth that requires urgent dental care to minimize damage and aid in recovery. Severe pain or discomfort, mouth bleeding, lacerations to the gums, and dislodged or fractured teeth are all problems that can be considered a dental emergency. Your doctor will assess the extent of the damage or injury when you arrive at our office, and render necessary aid to save or repair damaged teeth and restore normal jaw function. While inconvenient, some conditions such as lost fillings, chipped veneers, or broken dental appliances do not constitute a dental emergency, and treatment can be delayed if necessary.

Champagne Urgent Dental Care Services

As soon as you notice tooth pain, or after an incident that jeopardizes the structure of your tooth, we encourage you to call us immediately during regular business hours to receive urgent dental care, or contact us through the chat feature on our website after hours. We will do our very best to see you as soon as possible to address your emergency dental treatment.  If you are experiencing a dental emergency from the list below, contact Champagne Family Dentistry so we can help with:

Bleeding

Empty tooth sockets or lacerations to the gums or soft tissue can cause extensive bleeding due to the high number of blood vessels in the oral cavity. Your doctor will treat any wounds to stop the blood flow, sterilize the surrounding areas, and dress them to prevent infection.

Broken Dentures

Regardless of the interruption to normal eating habits—broken dentures can also cause injury to the surrounding tissues. Champagne Family Dentists will either repair these dentures or quickly begin the process of sculpting new ones.

Infection

Your mouth’s natural warmth and moisture creates an ideal condition for harmful bacteria if not infection is not properly treated. Your doctor will inspect any red, painful, or swollen areas and advise you on the best course of treatment.

Injuries

Injuries to the mouth are an unpleasant and unfortunately common reality for many people—especially children. After an injury, Champagne Family Dentists will inspect the extent of the damage, treat any pain or impaired tooth function, and get you on the road to recovery.

Lost Tooth

When a tooth is avulsed or “knocked out,” time is of the essence. A cleanly avulsed tooth with the root intact can potentially be reinserted if brought to a dentist’s office soon after. If the lost tooth cannot be recovered, our care teams will outline next steps for repair or reconstruction.

Pain

Aside from generally being uncomfortable—or even debilitating—pain in the teeth, gums, bone, or soft tissue in the mouth can be indicative of a number of underlying health problems. Champagne Family Dentists will inspect any mouth and pain, diagnose the issue, and begin treatment promptly.

What Our Patients Say

We’re proud to have served our community for over four decades, and nothing makes us feel more accomplished in our mission than hearing our customers say we’ve done something right.

“I realized last night my mouth was making me very sick and I had to wait to find an appointment in the morning without having seen a dentist for quite some time. I couldn’t imagine being able to find anyone to take me quickly and as I didn’t have a choice I went looking online to see if I could get any ideas.I can only say I ended up at the Champagne site and proceeded from there leaving a text. They responded quickly and it was honestly the nicest, easiest dental experience I’ve ever had. I feel like I just got my socks blessed off and I want to say THANK YOU to all of Champagne for the lovely experience.”

Holly Sharp

“I have been using Champagne Dental for almost 9 years. Dr Drew and his staff are wonderful! I did leave there and tried a couple of other dental practices but I came back when I realized that Champagne is the best! Twice this year alone I have broken a tooth and needed a crown and they got me in immediately. I love the fact that they make the crown while you are there so you don’t have to wait two weeks and deal with a stupid temporary crown.”

Leslie Callaway

“Dr. Schiro is awesome! She is professional and friendly. I was able to get into the office quickly when I called with a tooth ache. I tried calling other offices and they either didn’t get back to me or finally did 2 days later!
The office staff is helpful and understanding, and that is important when you are suffering from tooth pain.”
