The second week of April is National Dental Hygienists Week and Champagne Family Dentistry is figuratively “popping the cork” to celebrate its team of dedicated dental hygienists next week.

What Do Dental Hygienists Do?
From conducting routine exams, taking x-rays, cleaning plaque from patients’ teeth, and offering sound advice on preventative dental care, a registered dental hygienist (RDH) works under the supervision of licensed dentists and sometimes see patients independently.
Registered dental hygienists have extensive training in proper dental techniques, skills and concepts and are required to obtain post secondary education and pass national and regional exams.
