Did you know that about 74 million Americans have no dental coverage? According to the National Association of Dental Plans, that is about 23% of the population and more than double the number of people who do not have health insurance.
The main downside of not having dental insurance is not having access to routine exams and cleanings to keep teeth and gums healthy. These essential services include oral cancer screenings, cleanings that remove tartar that could cause cavities or gum tissue erosion, and x-rays that can detect current cavities before they worsen and become more costly over time.
