SOMETIMES, WE’RE  GUILTY OF ASSUMING TOO MUCH, RIGHT? We recently realized that we’ve probably wrongly assumed that ALL of you—our valued patients—know Cheri as well as we do! That’s probably not the case.

So, We Asked Cheri A Few Questions

We asked Cheri a few questions to help you get to know her a little better. Those questions are found below—along with her candid answers! Enjoy!

Where are you originally from?

“Lovelock, NV”

What made you decide that you wanted to become a dental assistant?

“I was 18 years old and I started working in the front office in a pediatric dental office in Sacramento, CA. I slowly made my way in the back office taking x-rays and learning the lab sterilization. After working with the little kids and feeling good about dentistry, I wanted to do more. I became certified by taking a prep course at Sac City College to prepare me to challenge the State board test. I passed the written and practical exams and became an RDA!”

When you started as a dental assistant was there something funny that happened? Do you dare tell us that story?

“When I was working in the front office in Sacramento, my co-worker’s husband called in one day and I answered. He knew that I must have been the “new girl” who was new to dentistry & new to the office. He also thought he was pretty funny, so after a long confusing conversation, he pretended to be someone who collected baby teeth. Had me asking around if we had any teeth that we could donate to him. I was so gullible back then!”

What’s your favorite thing to do when you’re not at work?

“I enjoy snowboarding in the winter, and right now I enjoy being able to stay at home with my 6 month old baby girl!”

What do you enjoy most about being a dental assistant?

“I like to show my patients that going to the dentist can be a great experience. I also enjoy getting to know my patients & building relationships with them to make them feel more comfortable about being in the dental chair.”

We hope you’ve enjoyed getting to know Cheri a little better. Here at our practice we feel really fortunate to have her as a member of our awesome team.
