Dr. Renee Calkins Shares Her ‘Little Story’

Big Support. Little Town.

I went to dental school because I wanted to help people—a trait that seems to be common in the Reno area. I was born and raised in and around the world’s Biggest Little City, and as a result I have seen all the changes that have occurred over the past two decades. One of the many things that makes me proud to live in the Northern Nevada area is our community’s support for small businesses and family owned and operated businesses. My husband, who I have been married to for 12 years, is a co-owner of a local business and I work for a family owned and operated practice—I wouldn’t have it any other way. Watching the impact that local businesses have on the community and vice versa continues to make me a proud Northern Nevadan. I love giving back to a community with such great values and support systems… Not to mention the unlimited outdoor activities that are available here. Reno truly is a wonderful place to live.
